Animal Health From Nature.

What is Animal Naturopathy?

Animal Naturopathy, just as in Human Naturopathy, uses a combination of different treatments and natural medicines depending on the needs of each individual case. Medicinal Herbs offer the diseased body the tools to strengthen and rebalance itself; the body intuitively knows how to use them.

What to expect at your Clinic appointment?

My clinic appointments are 30 – 45 minutes long; this allows time for me to really listen, because as your pet’s caregiver, you know your animal the best of all. I value the opportunity to work alongside my clients, encouraging upates of any changes noticed in your pet. I empower you to be involved in the healing process, which is often a new and welcome feeling. By working as a team with restoring health as the ultimate goal, I get excellent compliance to my treatment plans, and therefore, I also have an excellent success rate in health restoration too.

How do the herbs work? Are they safe?

Every animal is unique and therefore, displays a unique combination of symptoms; (even if the veterinary diagnosis is the same as another animal; or have been suffering with chronic issues for years,) It is this unique combination of symptoms that I take time to watch, feel and listen to, during a clinic consultation. I feel the body, where the heat is distributed, areas of tension and areas lacking in peripheral blood flow, that appear cooler. I observe the behaviour, the movement, the colour of the skin and mucous membranes, and tongue. All these clues show me a unique pattern for your pet, a jigsaw puzzle of symptoms, that often have pieces missing. These clues relate to the health issues each animal is experiencing in its own way.  Once identified, these metabolic gaps, can then filled with natural medicines and a comprehensive treatment plan. When we begin feeding the correct nutrients and medicinal herbs, the body is given the tools it needs to repair and rebuild, restoring itself to an authentic healthy state. Sometimes this can happen in a matter of days, and sometimes it can take weeks or months. Each animal is unique, and I value the chance to learn and work on each case, with fresh eyes.

I gained my degree in Agricultural Science from London University in 1994.

I moved to New Zealand in 1997 and worked for AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals for 4 years. I then felt it was time to follow my true passion for animal health and retrained as a Vet Nurse at CPIT in 2002. After having my 2 children I went on to study my NZQA Level 7 DIPLOMA in Natural Animal Health. I qualified and registered as a practitioner of Animal Naturopathy in 2012.

The Natural Animal Health Clinic was launched in 2013, after the Christchurch earthquakes. starting slowly at first, but since then, through valued organic growth via word and mouth, my clinic has grown exponentially, helping hundreds of beloved cats and dogs across New Zealand.
